India Handicraft Exports Up 58 pc To $41.73-Oct

Exports of handicrafts to 41.73 million dollars on the back of growing demand from U.S. and European markets in October 2010, jumped 58 percent year after year.

Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) According to statistics provided by the export of handicrafts in October 2009 stood at 26.32 million U.S. dollars.

"There is good demand for the products of handicrafts, mainly U.S. and European markets" EPCH executive director Rakesh Kumar was quoted by a report by news agency.

The elements that export growth increasingly seen in the false (37.94 percent), jewelry, shawls (up 33.20 percent) and were artware woodware (up 30.13 percent).
